"My my my..." is a videopoetry work based on a a text by the Language School poet Charles Bernstein.
Original text has an epigraph from Swami Satchidananda: "Count these number of things you call mine. This is the distance between you and enlightenment." Word by word Bernstein’s poem is presented through web sign-in forms in an endless process of entering. We don’t know if the trip leads anywhere. The more important point is the question of self-identity, especially in a virtual world. The diversity of usernames makes us ask if these variables are “mine”, – or even they are me.
But it is not just the conceptual side of the work that should be taken into account. It is the constant general principle as well as small details and nuances of interaction between text and visual environment make the vid-eo poetic and ensure us that it is a mediapoetry.
