Anna Tolkacheva is media-artist, researcher and poet.
She explores new ways for creating text and accessing it through the new media, non-standard interfaces and controllers.
Anna creates art-works which can be attributed to the emerging field of the mediapoetry.
She works in experimental video, interactive installations and text technics.
Anna was born at 1985 in Gorky, USSR. Currently she resides in France.
She has got a master degree in Computer Science and worked as a senior programmer and researcher in computational linguistic field.
In 2017 Anna obtained a diploma in New Media Art in Rodchenko Art School, Moscow.
She is a co-organizer of publishing house “Red Swallow”.
Anna's artworks have been featured in numerous worldwide exhibitions, screenings, and festivals. Her VR piece, "Arctic Recall," won the VR work-in-progress competition at the 2022 GoEast Film Festival in Wiesbaden, Germany. Her video piece, "The Freedom," was awarded at the International Extra Short Film Festival in 2014. She received the Grand Prix at the Video Poetry Film Festival 'The Fifth Leg' in 2012 and 2016. Anna has been a visiting artist at various art residencies, including PolArt in the Arctic Circle, Norilsk; Cité Internationale Des Arts in Paris; the PROGR cultural center in Bern; and Hiap Helsinki, among others.
