"The Freedom" is a video poetry work based on the text of the famous Russian contemporary poet Vsevolod Nekrasov.
The text itself consists of repetition of only two words on Russian language: «свобода», which means “freedom” and «есть», which could be translated in English ambiguously corresponding to context – “is” or “exists”.

In the beginning we can only hear the poet reading his original text and see the black screen. Then, a hamster trapped in a running wheel performs the same text with his actions. Escaping the wheel instead of keeping running, he embodies the word freedom. That is why we can surely translate the last «есть» as “exists”.
